Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to advance secure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure modernization for a federal program in Huntsville, AL. This onsite role requires an active Top Secret clearance.

You will design automated deployment pipelines, implement IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation, and integrate security controls across AWS and on-prem environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, CI/CD pipeline development, or infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and secure deployment practices.
• Familiarity with code quality, security scanning, and vulnerability remediation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, security scanning, and deployments.
• Implement secure DevSecOps practices including vulnerability scanning and automated compliance validation.

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support secure automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and cloud infrastructure modernization initiatives for a mission-critical federal program in Huntsville, AL. The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will design and optimize automated deployment pipelines, implement infrastructure-as-code solutions, and integrate security controls across AWS and on-premises environments. This position will be fully onsite in Huntsville, AL and requires an active Top Secret clearance!

Responsibilities of the Senior DevSecOps Engineer:

• Design, develop, and optimize CI/CD pipelines supporting automated builds, testing, security scanning, and application deployments
• Implement secure DevSecOps practices, including dependency management, artifact control, vulnerability scanning, and automated compliance validation
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment workflows
• Support containerized application deployments and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Integrate security gates, code quality checks, and vulnerability scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities across AWS and hybrid cloud environments
• Manage source control repositories, branching strategies, versioning, and build automation processes
• Troubleshoot deployment failures, pipeline issues, infrastructure instability, and automation errors
• Collaborate with Full Stack Developers, Cloud Engineers, QA Automation Engineers, and Data Engineering teams to support application modernization
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical design reviews, and integration testing
• Monitor pipeline performance, improve deployment reliability, and identify opportunities to reduce manual processes
• Develop and maintain CI/CD documentation, infrastructure templates, deployment procedures, and compliance artifacts
• Support major application releases, deployment readiness assessments, and ongoing infrastructure optimization

Qualifications for the Senior DevSecOps Engineer:

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps engineering, CI/CD pipeline development, or infrastructure automation
• Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms
• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or comparable technologies
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure, cloud automation, and secure application deployment practices
• Experience with configuration management, environment provisioning, and automated deployment workflows
• Knowledge of secure software development practices, automated security scanning, and vulnerability remediation
• Experience troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, deployment issues, and cloud infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with Git, source control management, branching strategies, and build automation

Compensation for the Senior DevSecOps Engineer includes:

• Salary: $170,000 - $190,000
