Job summary

Engineering11 seeks a DevOps-focused engineer to shape our CI/CD and release patterns for E11 Cloud. You will set infrastructure standards across GCP and future backends, and work on Cloud Run and Kubernetes deployments.

You will collaborate across teams to build reusable Terraform modules, promote trusted builds, and secure the pipeline with SBOMs and image scanning. Remote-friendly collaboration encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform, or SRE with standards adoption.
• Strong Terraform modules used across repos.
• Strong CI/CD, GitHub Actions, artifact promotion.
• Hands-on with containers on managed compute; Kubernetes is a plus.
• Comfort with multiple clouds (GCP and Azure).
• Observability and security practices including secrets and identity.
• TypeScript/Node and Bash for automation.
• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate work.

Responsibilities

Job description

Engineering11 helps teams build great software, faster - without the pitfalls. We bring together a production-ready foundation, a knowledge corpus, AI agents that amplify the whole team, and optional professional services to build and operate it - and we're building E11 Cloud to run the whole platform end to end. The platform is proven and mature, and as we scale we're deepening our investment in infrastructure and release engineering. This role helps shape our DevOps and release engineering - the CI/CD, infrastructure, and automation that let us ship reliably and operate E11 Cloud at scale.

You will set the infrastructure, CI/CD, and release patterns that the rest of the platform and our professional services clients build on. You'll work across our current GCP stack (NestJS microservices on Cloud Run) and our next version, a lightweight Hono backend that can run in different shapes: packaged together in a single instance for smaller setups, or split into separate services across Cloud Run or Kubernetes as needs grow. We lean on AI across our engineering, so we want someone comfortable using it to move quickly through unfamiliar code and environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform, or SRE work, with a track record of setting standards other engineers adopt.
• Strong Terraform, especially reusable modules used across many repos.
• Strong CI/CD, ideally GitHub Actions, including promoting artifacts across environments.
• Hands-on with containers on managed compute (Cloud Run, ECS, App Service, or similar). Kubernetes is a plus.
• Comfortable in more than one cloud. We run GCP and Azure in production today.
• Solid observability and security practices, including secrets, identity, and least-privilege.
• Good with TypeScript/Node and Bash for automation.
• You use AI tools well to get up to speed quickly in unfamiliar code and environments.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable Terraform modules the platform and clients can pull in with minimal config, replacing our old CDKTF setup.
• Rebuild releases so we promote a built image from QA to production instead of rebuilding it in every environment, with proper deploy ordering and rollback.
• Own our GitHub Actions CI/CD and the reusable workflows we share across client repos, including package publishing as we move to changesets.
• Set up and run observability across all environments: metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and on-call runbooks.
• Build infrastructure for V2's swappable storage and databases and its tiered deployments (single instance, Cloud Run, Kubernetes), and bring costs down with right-sizing and scale-to-zero.
• Move our change data capture off Cloud Functions onto something easier to run.
• Manage secrets, identity, and least-privilege access across clouds, and secure the build pipeline with image scanning, SBOMs, and signing, since clients run our software themselves.
• Handle networking and edge (load balancing, DNS, TLS, CDN, API gateway, tenant routing) and set the patterns for database provisioning, migrations, backups, and recovery.
