Job summary

Leidos is seeking a DevOps Engineer (Tier 3) to support a government contract in the National Capital Region. The role involves maintaining and developing custom software applications in Windows and Linux environments, with a focus on automation, scripting, and cross-platform integration.

The candidate will work across multiple teams, documenting capabilities and roadmaps, while collaborating with customers and partners to ensure secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with at least 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• Demonstrated custom development experience using Linux based servers and appliances.
• 3+ years of experience using Rust and/or Python to develop applications and services.
• Experience with automation tools using Ansible and custom apps using Docker containers.
• Strong written/verbal communications, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and/or modify custom applications and scripts implemented across multiple platforms.
• Maintain custom software applications and services.
• Recommend and implement improvements to existing software solutions.
• Maintain system architecture to ensure versatility and consistency across multiple platforms.
• Provide input to software configuration and system documentation, improvements to capabilities, build roadmaps, and update software as required.
• Attend meetings and reviews.
• Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas, the program manager, and customer team members.
• Communicate with external parties such as mission partners and vendors as required.
