Job summary

Harvard Medical School's Department of Information Technology seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to manage secure research computing environments that meet federal standards. You will oversee SRCE operations, enforce cloud security, and drive CI/CD for AWS‑based research platforms.

Ideal candidates bring deep AWS experience, strong scripting, and the ability to mentor staff while partnering with researchers and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of post‑secondary education or relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud security controls.
• Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and software development life cycle.
• Familiarity with PCI, FedRAMP, HIPAA and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SRCE deployment, monitoring, patching, and compliance in AWS.
• Design secure cloud architectures and implement cost‑saving refinements.
• Lead CI/CD for AWS‑based technologies and mentor junior staff.
• Document security, data residency and technology solutions for researchers.
