Job summary

Authority Partners is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed systems. You will lead CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for data, ML, and GenAI workloads on AWS, ensuring secure, auditable, and scalable delivery.

The role blends hands-on engineering with collaboration across teams to enable data scientists and ML engineers to focus on modeling and analytics.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering with 2+ years supporting ML/data/AI workloads
  • Proven ability to lead technically: design a solution, propose it, and drive it to completion with other teams
  • Strong hands-on AWS, including SageMaker, S3 and IAM; exposure to Amazon Bedrock
  • Terraform at production scale
  • CI/CD with GitHub Actions / GitHub Enterprise and GitOps with ArgoCD
  • Docker and Kubernetes (EKS); exposure to a service mesh (Gloo Mesh or Istio)
  • Experience building governed pipelines with automated compliance gates and audit trails
  • Working knowledge of data and AI tooling such as Snowflake, Airflow and MLflow
  • Daily, proficient use of AI-assisted engineering tools
  • Python scripting; observability tooling such as CloudWatch, Prometheus or Grafana
  • Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer habits
  • Fluent English and confidence working directly with client stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Build, automate and own the CI/CD and deployment paths for data/ML/GenAI on AWS
  • Create reusable, versioned pipeline templates with security/compliance by default
  • Automate required gates and maintain auditable deployment paths
  • Provide self-service tooling with fast feedback and clear error messages
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Platform Engineering for IaC pipelines (Terraform, Kubernetes, EKS)
  • Automate model serving, versioning and rollback; monitor model performance
  • Support Snowflake and Airflow workloads with artifacts in JFrog and GitOps via ArgoCD
  • Enforce access control, audit logs and environment isolation; manage secrets (Secrets Manager/Vault)
  • Operate and improve runbooks and daily DevOps tasks
  • Use AI-assisted tooling daily to shape DevOps practices
  • Document and hand over everything to enable ongoing operations

Job description

Authority Partners is actively searching for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic global team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems. You will be the DevOps expert in the room: you design solutions, propose them and drive them through, so data, ML and AI engineers can focus on their own work instead of deployment tooling.

Key responsibilities
  • Build, automate and own the CI/CD and deployment paths that data, ML and AI engineers use to ship data products, ML models and GenAI applications on AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock, S3).
  • Create reusable, versioned pipeline templates and workflows that teams adopt rather than copy, with security and compliance controls built in by default.
  • Implement and automate required gates and record keeping, so every deployment is auditable and the compliant path is the easiest path for developers.
  • Provide self-service tooling with fast feedback and clear error messages.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure Platform Engineering team, who own the underlying Kubernetes infrastructure, and bring their infrastructure as code into the pipelines (Terraform, Kubernetes, Gloo Mesh, EKS).
  • Automate model serving, versioning and rollback, and monitor model performance and drift (SageMaker, MLflow).
  • Support data and AI workloads such as Snowflake and Airflow (Astronomer), with artifacts in JFrog and GitOps delivery through ArgoCD on GitHub Enterprise.
  • Enforce access control, audit logging and environment isolation; manage secrets in AWS Secrets Manager or Vault; work within SailPoint and SecureOps controls.
  • Operate and improve what you build: runbooks, daily operations, and cutting manual, repetitive DevOps work.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools daily and help shape how EP's DevOps team uses AI well.
  • Document and hand over everything so EP's DevOps staff can operate and extend it, and help full-time staff build their own expertise.
Requirements

Must have

  • 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering, with 2+ years supporting ML, data or AI workloads in production.
  • Proven ability to lead technically: design a solution, propose it, and drive it to completion with other teams.
  • Strong hands-on AWS, including SageMaker, S3 and IAM; exposure to Amazon Bedrock.
  • Terraform at production scale.
  • CI/CD with GitHub Actions / GitHub Enterprise and GitOps with ArgoCD.
  • Docker and Kubernetes (EKS); exposure to a service mesh (Gloo Mesh or Istio).
  • Experience building governed pipelines with automated compliance gates and audit trails.
  • Working knowledge of data and AI tooling such as Snowflake, Airflow and MLflow: how they are used, even if not an expert.
  • Daily, proficient use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Python scripting; observability tooling such as CloudWatch, Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer habits.
  • Fluent English and confidence working directly with client stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Operating LLM applications on Bedrock (RAG pipelines, vector databases).
  • Feature store experience (SageMaker Feature Store, Feast or similar).
  • HashiCorp Vault and identity governance tooling such as SailPoint.
  • AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer Professional, Machine Learning Engineer Associate or ML Specialty).
  • Experience working in an on-call support rotation.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field would be of great value, but if you’re passionate and have the experience that backs up your abilities, for us, talent outweighs degree every time.

AP Perks:
  • Cutting-edge technologies
  • Opportunity to work with people who are at the top of their field
  • Great culture and environment
  • Collaborative learning environment
  • Professional training
