Job summary

Hashlist is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and run AWS infrastructure for a knowledge-graph and LLM-powered platform used by 400+ people monthly. Hybrid in Auburn Hills, MI; full-time, engaging work with vendor releases.

You will manage IAM, networking, EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu, create CI/CD pipelines, and migrate databases with minimal downtime, while enforcing security and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering with multi-account AWS.
• Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, and container tech.
• Terraform/OpenTofu (Terragrunt a plus) for infra as code.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar.
• Experience with Neo4j and MongoDB backups/restores is desired.
• Monitoring/alerting with CloudWatch/Prometheus/Datadog; incident response.

Responsibilities

• Migrate workloads to EKS with Helm (Django backend and LLM service).
• Own infrastructure as code using Terraform and OpenTofu.
• Design CI/CD pipelines and image promotion.

• Set up monitoring, alerting, on-call, health checks, incident response.
• Apply security: SSO/OAuth, secrets management and least-privilege.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer. You’ll build and run the new AWS infrastructure for a knowledge-graph and LLM-powered platform used by 400+ people every month at a major automotive player, making it reliable and secure without slowing down frequent vendor releases.

• Working model: Hybrid


• Employment type: Full-time, Contract or Freelance

Responsibilities:

• Build and run AWS infrastructure across IAM, networking, EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, multi-account integration, governance and cost control


• Rebuild and run workloads on Amazon EKS with Helm, including a Django backend and an LLM-based query service


• Own the infrastructure as code in Terraform and Terragrunt/OpenTofu


• Design CI/CD pipelines and image promotion


• Migrate and run Neo4j and MongoDB databases with minimal downtime


• Set up monitoring, alerting and on-call, including health checks, early outage warnings, incident response and change notifications


• Apply security best practices: SSO/OAuth integration, secrets management (aws-vault, Terraform secrets) and least-privilege access


• Support the LLM layer migration, working with ML engineers on how LLM services are deployed and run

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering, including production experience on multi-account AWS


• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred), Helm and containers (Docker, ECR)


• Strong Terraform / OpenTofu skills (Terragrunt is a plus)


• Experience building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or similar tools


• Production experience running Neo4j and/or MongoDB, including backup and restore, performance tuning, upgrades and migrations


• Experience setting up monitoring and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana or Datadog) and taking part in incident response


• Good scripting skills in Python or Bash


• Clear, proactive communicator who works well with external vendors and international teams

Nice to have:

• Python/Django and React/Vite knowledge for debugging application deployments


• Deploying and running LLM/ML services, GenAI services such as Bedrock or AgentCore, and MLOps tools such as MLflow or Databricks


• SSO/OAuth, secrets managers (AWS Secrets Manager, Vault), security reviews and infrastructure migration experience
