Job summary

System One in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines, migrate from Jenkins and UCD, and build reusable Terraform modules for automated provisioning. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, efficient deployments across dev to prod.

You will leverage AWS, scripting, and IaC skills to optimize release processes and deliver within accelerated timelines, providing expert guidance and clear documentation throughout

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, CI/CD, release automation, or platform engineering.
• Advanced GitLab experience: CI/CD, runners, templates, variables, environments, artifacts, deployment controls.
• Strong Terraform modules and IaC experience.
• Hands-on Jenkins pipelines experience.
• Experience with UrbanCode Deploy or comparable tool.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Git-based workflows and release management.
• Security-minded CI/CD: secrets, access controls, vulnerability scanning.
• Migration of enterprise apps without disrupting schedules.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder skills.
• Outcome-driven with accelerated delivery timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess Jenkins, UCD, scripts, integrations, and dependencies.
• Design and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines to replace Jenkins/UCD.
• Develop reusable GitLab pipeline templates for build/test/deploy.
• Create Terraform modules for automated provisioning and config.
• Migrate pipelines across dev/test/stage/prod environments.
• Integrate GitLab with clouds, repos, security tools, and monitoring.
• Implement approvals, RBAC, auditability, and deployment controls.
• Troubleshoot failures, Terraform issues, environment problems, and deps.
• Collaborate with teams to validate migrated pipelines.
• Document current/target state, migration procedures, and rollback plans.
• Provide deployment support and hypercare after migrations.
• Conduct technical walkthroughs and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Track progress, risks, and outcomes against a 3-month plan.
