Job summary

A leading IT staffing organization is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Washington D.C. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in sys-admin and release management, with strong expertise in DevOps practices and automation tools like Ansible. Responsibilities include developing deployment tools for IaaS platforms and leading agile practices in project SDLC. A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field is required. Qualifications

• 8 years’ work experience in sys-admin and release management.
• Solid understanding of CI best practices and tooling, specifically Jenkins.
• Strong experience with Git like DVCS systems for release management.
• Extensive experience in building JAVA Web/Mobile Systems.
• Well versed in using Solaris and Linux operating systems.
• Detailed knowledge of Configuration Management discipline.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate deployment tools for IAAS platforms.
• Lead agile practice implementation for project SDLC.
• Design best practices for build and release process and tooling.
• Oversee daily responsibility of build execution.
