Job description

Want to help shape what comes next at a successful, fast-growing software company?

Company Overview

At Poppulo, we help the world’s leading organizations reach every employee, wherever they work.

For a large, distributed workforce, that’s harder than it sounds. Today’s workforce is spread across offices, factories, retail stores, hospitals and other frontline locations. No single communication channel can reach everyone. Poppulo brings those channels together in one AI-powered employee experience platform, helping companies deliver relevant communications wherever their people are located.

More than 10,000 organizations trust us to connect with their workforce across email, mobile, intranet, Microsoft Teams, and digital signage. Our communications reach more than 50 million employees worldwide, and the platform delivers content to more than 600,000 digital signs around the globe. We also help employees engage with their company, celebrate one another’s contributions, and stay connected wherever they work.

We know there’s no such thing as a “perfect” candidate—we’re all works in progress, picking up new skills as we go. So apply even if you don’t tick every box. We want people who see things differently—because that’s how we see things too.

Key Responsibilities
  • DevOps Integration: Collaborate with software development to integrate best practices into the DevOps pipeline, automating controls and promoting a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab, ensuring efficient, reliable, and repeatable build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Provision and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ensuring environments are scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient.
  • Continuous Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and rapid incident response.
  • Security Integration: Embed security practices across the DevOps pipeline, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and adherence to Azure security best practices.
  • Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities, contributing to root cause analysis and the implementation of preventative measures.
  • Compliance: Support compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001) through appropriate infrastructure controls, access management, and audit readiness.
  • Collaboration & Enablement: Provide guidance and support to development teams on DevOps best practices, tooling, and workflows.
  • AI Innovation & Adoption: Opportunity to work with AI-driven technologies, contribute to building AI-powered solutions, and leverage AI tools to enhance automation, engineering efficiency, and DevOps practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, with experience owning and improving production cloud infrastructure at a senior level.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Deep, hands-on Microsoft Azure expertise is essential, with substantial production experience across Azure compute, networking, storage, and identity (Entra ID).
  • Strong hands-on CI/CD engineering experience, including designing, building, troubleshooting, and improving production pipelines, repositories, and deployment workflows.
  • Strong hands-on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience managing production cloud infrastructure. Terraform is preferred; strong experience with comparable IaC technologies will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently investigate unfamiliar or complex environments, identify technical gaps, and drive solutions with limited direction.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
  • Solid understanding of observability (e.g., MELT) and related tools.
  • Familiarity with Azure security tooling, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, and RBAC.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals in Azure (VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, DNS).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across development, operations, and stakeholder teams.
Nice to Have
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab/GitLab CI
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104)
  • Experience with repository and CI/CD pipeline migrations, particularly to GitLab
