Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead platform architecture, automation, and cloud infrastructure across Linux and Windows environments. You will design deployment pipelines, automate multi-environment releases, and optimize systems for performance and security within a fast-paced, collaborative team.

The role requires strong scripting/programming skills (Ruby, C/C++, Go, Python, or Java) and experience with AWS and modern CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Engineering or Computer Science with 12+ years of technical experience.
• Fluent with Git and version-control best practices (branching/merging).
• Strong Linux (RHEL 6/7/8, RHCSA/RHCE, CentOS) and Windows admin skills.
• Experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo, Docker, and Kubernetes for automated deployment (preferred).
• Experience with caching tech (Memcache, Redis) and MySQL/Elasticsearch.
• Familiar with security practices, networking, firewalls, and PCI compliance.
• Experience with Agile environments and AWS cloud or PaaS environments.
• Programming in Ruby, C/C++, Go, Python, or Java; OOP concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support the development lifecycle: design, deployment, debugging.
• Build and maintain release pipelines for fast, secure production delivery.
• Automate deployments across environments via scripting and toolkits.
• Configure sites/applications with Puppet/Ansible; maintain Confluence/Jira.

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with expertise in Git and extensive experience in platform architecture, automation, and cloud infrastructure. • Strong knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL 6/7/8, RHCSA/RHCE, CentOS) and Windows system administration.
• Experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo, Docker, and Kubernetes for automated deployment (preferred).
• Expertise with caching technologies (e.g., Memcache, Active MQ, Redis, APC), MySQL (Clusters, Replication, Tuning), and Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus).
• Familiarity with security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, and PCI compliance.
• Experience with Agile development environments and managing AWS cloud or virtualized servers in PaaS environments.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Ruby, C/C++, Go, Python, or Java) and understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Clearance Requirement: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
