Job summary

Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support our government customer in Vienna, VA. The role requires an active Top-Secret security clearance and a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite, 1 day telework).

You will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud solutions, automate infrastructure, and build end-to-end CI/CD pipelines in AWS. Strong scripting (Python) and Jenkins/GitLab experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional DevOps, SRE, or cloud infra experience.
• Experience with AWS (CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Experience with coding and scripting.
• Experience building Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud solutions with CI/CD.
• IaC-focused DevOps architectures and best practices.
• Support enterprise IT platforms including secure cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Collaborate with architects to improve IaC solutions.
• Create and scale containers and serverless deployments in AWS.
• Build end-to-end CI/CD pipelines across enterprise environments.
• Write automation scripts and internal tools using Python.
• Mentor team on cloud security and IaC best practices.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of cloud platforms, automation tools, and infrastructure as code, with a passion for problem-solving and delivering efficient solutions

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud solutions while driving continuous integration and delivery processes
• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) and DevOps architectures, processes, and best practices
• Support of the enterprise IT platform, which includes secure cloud-hosted and on-premises environments
• Work with system architects and developers to maintain and improve the architecture and design of the infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions
• Focus on creating and maintaining containers as well as enabling container deployments and implementations of serverless architectures within AWS
• Design, build, and scale end-to-endCI/CD pipelines across enterprise environments.
• Experience with both coding and scripting. Write custom automation scripts and internal tools usingPython
• Experience with AWS (e.g., CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch). Architect, optimize, and manage complex infrastructure stacks using advancedAWS CloudFormation and modular templates
• Mentor team members and establish best practices for cloud security and infrastructure-as-code

Required Skills and Competencies:

• 5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), or cloud infrastructure role
• Experience with AWS (e.g., CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch)
• Experience with both coding and scripting.
• Experience building and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Current automation/orchestration tool suite experience.
• Experience in continuous integration technology (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub)
• Experience with Jenkins and creating Jenkins Pipelines while having and understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices
• Experience in continuous integration technology (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub). Manage and scale GitLab Runners for high-volume, secure builds.
• Experience with both coding and scripting. Write custom automation scripts and internal tools usingPython
• Experience with AWS (e.g., CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch). Architect, optimize, and manage complex infrastructure stacks using advancedAWS CloudFormation and modular templates

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with Poly
• Ability to work on-site in Vienna, VA (4 days per week + 1 day remote)
• Experience with AWS cloud environments
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong documentation and communication abilities

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
