Responsibilities

  • Enhance, develop, and maintain internal tools for inventory generation, environment management, and automation.
  • Design and develop code for end-user applications, prototypes, test tools, and supporting programs.
  • Write, test, and maintain automated deployment and configuration software.
  • Design, develop, and execute deployment and automation workflows using Ansible, Jenkins, and related tools.
  • Create automation jobs for auto-remediation and configuration updates.
  • Identify auto-remediation opportunities across the product suite.
  • Create APIs to enhance the multi-cloud automation platform.
  • Work with AWS, Azure, and GCP services including Lambda, S3, load balancers, and CLIs.
  • Manage CI/CD applications and processes for internal tool development.
  • Integrate automation workflows with Slack, Datadog, and Sumo Logic.
  • Maintain packages and dependencies for internal tools using open-source libraries.
  • Ensure code meets requirements, standards, and designs; raise defects when needed.
  • Collaborate with partners to understand system requirements and modifications.
  • Contribute to product design specs and broader development processes.
  • Develop runbooks, guidelines, and procedures for deployment and maintenance.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong full-stack development background to support the automation, configuration, and operation of our cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Working in coordination with management and cross-functional teams, this engineer will design, document, implement, test, debug, and maintain internal tooling and our multi-cloud automation platform.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will leverage advanced automation strategies to solve complex business and technical problems, identify auto-remediation opportunities, and improve the reliability and efficiency of our environments. This role requires close collaboration with Development, QA, Support, and Customer Support teams across multiple time zones.

The ideal candidate brings advanced experience with Python, Ansible, Node.js, React, Go, PowerShell, and related technologies, along with a strong foundation in cloud operations, systems administration, networking, software engineering, and CI/CD practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance, develop, and maintain internal tools for inventory generation, environment management, and automation.
  • Design and develop code for commercial end-user applications, prototypes, test tools, and other supporting programs.
  • Write, test, debug, and maintain automated deployment and configuration software using applicable programming languages and technologies.
  • Design, develop, and execute deployment, configuration, and automation workflows using Ansible, Jenkins, and related tools.
  • Create automation jobs that correct common issues, update configurations, and enable proactive auto-remediation.
  • Use knowledge of Aspect's product suite to identify and implement new automation and auto-remediation opportunities.
  • Create APIs that enhance our multi-cloud automation platform.
  • Work with AWS, Azure, and GCP services and technologies, including Lambda, data pipelines, S3, load balancers, and cloud command-line interfaces.
  • Manage the CI/CD applications and processes used for internal tool development.
  • Integrate automation and operational workflows with Slack, Datadog, and Sumo Logic.
  • Maintain current packages and dependencies for internal tools that use open-source libraries.
  • Proactively identify code that does not comply with requirements, standards, or designs and raise appropriate defects.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners to understand system requirements and determine necessary modifications.
  • Contribute to product design specifications and broader design or process development.
  • Create and maintain best-practice guidelines, knowledge-base articles, runbooks, and procedures for deployment, configuration, installation, and maintenance.
  • Apply software debugging techniques, object-oriented design, multithreaded programming, and advanced design patterns when developing and troubleshooting solutions.
  • Brainstorm and implement creative approaches to remediate issues throughout the environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced team members.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to internal audiences and collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple time zones.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, cloud operations, systems administration, or a related technical role.
  • Minimum of 6 years Designing and managing virtual networks (AWS VPC, Azure VNET, GCP VPC), including CIDR planning and subnet design across availability zones, and public vs private segmentation.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and operating infrastructure in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with additional technologies such as Node.js, React, PowerShell, or Go.
  • Experience with Linux, Windows Server, containers, and configuration-management or automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and using version-control systems such as Git or Bitbucket.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including routing, proxies, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and the OSI model.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring less-experienced team members and contributing to technical designs, standards, or process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Pulumi, Chef, Github Actions or Jenkins
  • Experience with MongoDB, multithreaded programming, object-oriented design, APIs, and software design patterns.
  • Experience creating automation and auto-remediation solutions across multiple cloud platforms.
