Job summary

DRUM Associates is seeking a seasoned Cloud and DevOps engineer to build and modernize cloud infrastructure in a regulated environment. You will implement Terraform IaC, run CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with Security and Product teams.

You will focus on reliability, observability, and scalable architectures, supporting migrations across cloud platforms and documenting best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud/Platform Engineering, or similar role.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Hands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting and automation in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production environments and root-cause analysis.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, and operational best practices.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems with incomplete documentation.
• Strong communication and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

What You\'ll Do

• Build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes


• Support the organization\'s ongoing migration and modernization within Google Cloud Platform


• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform


• Build, manage, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps


• Develop automation and scripting solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies


• Troubleshoot complex production and infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis


• Help improve monitoring, observability, reliability, and operational processes


• Review technical work and help establish engineering standards and best practices

What We\'re Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar role


• Strong experience with a major cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure


• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code


• Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines


• Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages


• Experience troubleshooting complex production environments and performing root-cause analysis


• Understanding of cloud networking, infrastructure, security, and operational best practices


• Ability to work through unfamiliar systems and environments where documentation may be incomplete


• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders


• Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing technical work, or serving as a senior technical resource


• Ability to balance modernization with the processes and controls required within an established organization

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform


• Experience with GCP technologies such as VPC, Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Identity, Secret Manager, and Certificate Authority


• Experience with Azure DevOps


• Monitoring and observability experience with Datadog or similar platforms


• Experience with REST APIs, web services, SQL, and integration technologies


• Familiarity with MuleSoft


• Understanding of ITIL change, release, and problem-management practices


• Experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Gemini


• Experience working within healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry
