Job summary

State of Nevada is recruiting for a full-time Developmental Specialist 3 in Carson City and Reno/Sparks. The role involves creating programs, providing direct services and case management across ATAP and NEIS, and working with multidisciplinary teams to determine eligibility and services.

Incumbents must obtain Early Childhood Developmentally Delayed Endorsement within three years. Work may occur in home, clinic, hospital, residential or community settings, with an emphasis on family-centered,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, special education, human growth and development, psychology, counseling, social work or a closely related field and two years of professional experience providing developmental, special education, intervention, treatment-oriented, child/adult care, and/or instructional guidance services for individuals who have or may be at risk for developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions.
  • OR one year of experience as a Developmental Specialist II in Nevada State service.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor individual support plans to meet identified goals.
  • Provide case management services, assess needs, coordinate supports, and supervise providers.
  • Deliver early intervention services and service coordination for children under three.
  • Develop and implement treatment and service plans with families in home, clinic and community settings.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers and professionals to ensure eligibility and services.
  • Identify funding sources and prepare reports and partnerships.
