Job summary

AVIZVA in Reston, VA is seeking a Senior Development Engineer - BackEnd Technologies to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications. You will build micro-services, integrate APIs, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced healthcare technology environment.

The role requires strong Java expertise (8+), Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and a solid grasp of architecture, design patterns, and data modeling across MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Java (version 8 or higher) with OOPS concepts.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring MVC, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience in micro-services architecture and modular software design.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, multithreading, and data structures.
• Experience designing and implementing robust RESTful APIs.
• Databases: MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB (advantageous).
• Code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure quality delivery.
• Knowledge of RabbitMQ and Kafka is a plus.
• Familiarity with FrontEnd and DevOps, and Agile methodology.
• Mentoring and guiding teammates to success; strong communication and problem-solving skills.

As a Senior Development Engineer - BackEnd Technologies, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. • Should have knowledge of project architecture and demonstrate experience in developing and deploying applications based on micro-services architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of Design patterns, Multithreading, Data structures, and Algorithms, along with a basic understanding of Low-Level Design (LLD).
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing robust RESTful APIs.
• Solid knowledge of databases, including MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB (advantageous), alongside a good understanding of entity-relationship (ER) modeling concepts.
• Experience in conducting code reviews, debugging complex issues, and implementing effective troubleshooting strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Basic understanding of messaging tools like RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Familiarity with cross-functional domains such as FrontEnd and DevOps.
• Should have deep understanding of Agile methodology.
• Skilled in mentoring and guiding team members to achieve their full potential and drive project success.
