Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) seeks a senior Java engineer in Atlanta to design, implement, and maintain scalable software. You will work on core Java platforms, multi-threaded systems and event-driven architectures, collaborating with product management to meet evolving requirements.

Responsibilities include builds, deployments, test creation, documentation, and support for production systems and maintenance windows. Strong coding, communication, and scripting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 5+ years professional software development experience using Core Java.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Good understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
• Expertise in Core Java multi-threading, collections, JVM, garbage collection.
• Experience with Spring framework, REST, JPA, RabbitMQ.
• Expertise in architecting and designing event driven distributed systems.
• Bash, PERL or other scripting experience.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing.

Preferred Skills

• Practical experience leveraging agentic AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code) within the software development lifecycle is preferred
• Experience with service-oriented architecture is preferred.
• Experience in Financial Services or Fintech is preferred.
