Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Senior Developer for its Equity Investment Management Systems (EIMS) to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical applications enabling portfolio management, trading, and analytics across global equity teams. You will collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and architects to deliver scalable, secure solutions on a cloud-native platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in application development, system architecture and database management.
• Experience in software architecture and system design for enterprise applications.
• Hands on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript, Angular/React, AG Grid and Nx and designing scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support high-quality software solutions that enable portfolio management, trading, investment research, and investment data workflows.
• Collaborate with product managers, investment professionals, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Build and enhance cloud-based applications and services using modern engineering practices, including AWS, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and DevOps principles.
• Support production applications and drive operational excellence through incident analysis, root cause remediation, performance optimization, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
