Neo4j seeks a Senior Developer Advocate for Startups by the Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area to drive developer engagement, cultivate relationships with startups, incubators, VCs, and founder communities, and translate technical vision into practical guidance.

You will create technical content, demos, talks, and trainings; advocate for Neo4j technologies, analyze engagement data, and help shape products to meet developer needs while growing a vibrant community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in developer advocacy/relations or similar tech role.

Responsibilities

• Engage founding engineers and technical leaders in the Bay Area; be the main contact for startup inquiries and liaison to Neo4j.
• Create technical content: blog posts, tutorials, videos; develop code samples, demos, SDKs; present talks and workshops.
• Advocate for Neo4j products; collect developer feedback and relay to product/engineering teams.
• Build and manage developer forums, communities, events, meetups, and hackathons.
• Develop educational resources, training materials, and best practices for developers.

Senior Developer Advocate - Startups by the Bay

Job Description

The Senior Developer Advocate for Startups will be responsible for driving developer engagement among startups in the San Francisco Bay Area, by nurturing relationships with startups, and within the incubators, VCs, and founder communities that support them. This role requires technical expertise, community building, and content creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Developer Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with founding engineers and technical leadership at startups in the Bay Area. Serve as the main point of contact for startup inquiries and support. Act as a liaison between the startup community and the company.
• Technical Content Creation Create technical content such as blog posts, tutorials, videos, and documentation. Develop code samples, demos, and SDKs to help developers understand and use our products. Present technical talks, webinars, and workshops at developer events.
• Product Advocacy Advocate for our products and technologies within the developer community. Gather feedback from developers and provide insights to product and engineering teams. Collaborate with product management to align product development with developer needs.
• Community Building Create and manage developer forums, communities, and user groups. Organize and participate in developer events, meetups, and hackathons. Foster a sense of collaboration and support within the developer community.
• Developer Education Develop and deliver educational resources, training materials, and documentation. Provide guidance and best practices to help developers succeed with our technologies. Conduct technical workshops and training sessions.
• Metrics and Analytics Utilize data and analytics to track developer engagement and measure the impact of developer advocacy efforts. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Prepare regular reports on developer community performance.

Qualifications

Salary and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is listed below. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Neo4j’s compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, in addition to geographic location. Based on the factors above, Neo4j utilizes the full width of the range. In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for a stock option grant and certain roles are eligible for an annual bonus. Employees in this position are also eligible to participate in the Company’s standard benefit programs, which currently include the following:
