Descripción del empleo

The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation’s space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space— delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you’ll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space. At Aerospace, we are reimagining how we operate and deliver values to our customers using AI. It is an excited time to join and help us shape our future. We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps/AIOps Engineer to help us build and manage the next generation of AI enabled Web and mobile agentic applications. You will work with a small team of bright and experienced software developers and cloud engineers to push the boundaries of Agentic operations supporting AI-native web and mobile solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Designing, building, and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment/testing (CI/CD/CT) pipelines
  • Integrating security controls into the deployment pipeline
  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable multi-cloud DevSecOps platform
  • Design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment workflows
  • Provisioning and managing cloud and on-premises infrastructure using code templates
  • Building centralized logging, tracing, and metrics pipelines
  • Tracking system performance, logs, and up time to catch and fix issues
  • Managing and scaling AI-native applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Performing root cause analysis for production incidents, and providing tier-2 or tier-3 supports
  • Implementing automation to reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery) and enabling self-healing and improving overall system resilience.
  • Build and improve CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) to accelerate deployment velocity
  • Applying standard security best practices (secrets management, least-privilege IAM, dependency scanning) as part of normal DevOps workflows — without owning deep security architecture.
  • Guiding and mentoring junior engineers
What You Need to be Successful
  • Minimum Requirements for Solutions Staff III: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, including at least 2 years focused on AI/ML infrastructure or AIOps
  • Demonstrated production experience with at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation)
  • Production experience managing Kubernetes, including scaling, networking, and workload scheduling
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/systems language (Python, Go, or similar) for automation and tooling development
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled application development, including RAG, MCP, Agents, LLMs, and AI Gateway architectures
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar)
  • Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent)
  • Experience with APIs and web services (REST, SOAP)
  • Proficiency with Jira, Git, and AI-enabled IDEs (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving system issues
  • Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and knowledge-sharing with peers
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for Solutions Developer Staff IV include: 8-10 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, including at least 2 years focused on AI/ML infrastructure or AIOps
  • Working knowledge of Agile development practices and test automation
How You Can Stand Out
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field
  • A continuous improvement mindset — never satisfied with the status quo and always seeking better ways to design, build, and deliver solutions
  • Experience implementing SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and chaos engineering practices to proactively strengthen system resilience
  • Hands-on experience with agentic workflow design and implementation
  • Experience deploying AI-enabled applications using RAG, MCP, Agents, LLMs, and AI Gateway architecture
  • Strong foundation in software architecture and design patterns
  • Experience deploying and scaling large language models, including quantization, batching, prompt caching, token optimization, and vector database integration
