Job summary

Suno seeks a Senior/Staff Detection & Response Engineer to design and own how we detect and respond to threats across our environment—the telemetry, detections, playbooks, and on-call rotation. This is a hands-on role to build detection end-to-end.

You will design a telemetry pipeline, write high-signal detections for identity, access, cloud control, and data exfiltration, and own incident response with live response and post-incident reviews.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in detection and response, building capabilities and setting direction.
• Strong AWS-native detection depth (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC logs, broader ecosystem).
• A detection-as-code, engineering-first mindset.
• Calm, structured, and decisive in live incidents.
• Interest in detecting AI/ML abuse and threat patterns.
• Nice to have: consumer product at scale and experience as an early/detect hire; exposure to AI/ML abuse signals.

Responsibilities

• Design and build our detection and telemetry pipeline, including logging coverage and the data that feeds it.
• Write high-signal detections mapped to threats that matter most (identity, access, cloud control, exfiltration).
• Build and own incident response—playbooks, on-call, live response, and post-incident reviews.
• Partner with security and platform engineering to close telemetry gaps and instrument visibility.
• Set the bar for detection-as-code and a metrics-driven response approach.
• Build detection for AI-specific abuse and novel attack patterns as they emerge.
• Leverage AI to augment you so you can focus on the critical work only you can do.
