Rapt in San Francisco is seeking Senior Designers who will lead design teams from concept to realization, collaborating with Creative Directors and Design Directors to push the work forward. They translate big ideas into cohesive spatial experiences, guiding teams and ensuring precision from concept to final details.

The role emphasizes mentorship of staff, strong communication with clients, and the ability to balance narrative, brand, and function across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 8+ years of experience in an architecture or design studio.
• Experience leading project teams through concept design, development, and delivery.
• Ability to translate ideas into cohesive spatial experiences balancing narrative, brand, and function.
• Experience collaborating with clients and partners to evolve ideas into buildable solutions.
• Fluency with production tools and documentation workflows (Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Familiarity with coordinating consultants, budgets, schedules, and approvals.

About the Role

Senior Designers are a driving force in our studio, working across projects from conception to realization, all while maintaining a keen eye for design. They lead our designers and work closely with Creative Directors and Design Directors to push the work forward. We’re looking for someone who’s got the confidence and creativity required to be on the frontlines of our work.

With a strong point of view in concept development, they know how to carry an idea through every phase—articulating clear design intent, guiding teams, and ensuring the work stays sharp from the big moves down to the final details.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design

• 8+ years of experience in an architecture or design studio

• Strong experience leading project teams through concept design, design development, and delivery

• Proven ability to translate big ideas into cohesive spatial experiences—balancing narrative, brand, and function

• Experience collaborating with clients and partners to evolve ideas into aligned, buildable solutions

• Fluency and working knowledge of production tools and documentation workflows (Revit//Rhino/SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)

• Familiarity with coordination across consultants, budgets, schedules, and approvals

• State licensure (or active pursuit) encouraged but not required
