Your Job

The Brooks Creative Lab imagines, designs, curates, and manifests creative concepts, campaigns, and assets that define and express the Brooks brand. Print, retail, packaging, web, digital, events — even porta potties — are our canvas, and runners are our inspiration. Our growing team seeks a Senior Designer, Branded Apparel Graphics to develop merchandise in support of branded experiences around the globe.

As the Senior Designer, Branded Apparel Graphics at Brooks, you will be responsible for creating original graphics and textile designs that reflect our brand aesthetic while meeting the needs of the business serving runners around the world. You will help shape how Brooks shows up through branded products at events, brand moments, and internal programs, translating our brand expression into compelling, product‑ready design. You will use strong craft and sound judgment to turn runners, events, and brand needs into clear, on‑brand recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Drive conceptual ideation, development, and execution for branded apparel graphics to meet the needs of the brand, business, and consumer across a range of global and regional purposes.
  • Create original, on‑trend artwork inspired by running culture around the world that brings our global brand expression to life and supports the goals of cross‑functional teams.
  • Lead the execution of branded apparel, accessories, and/or sock art designs by developing a strong consumer‑oriented point of view through an understanding of the runner and events we sponsor.
  • Own projects from concept through final production‑ready artwork, adapting designs to meet timelines, and production requirements while maintaining a high standard of craft.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Event Marketing, Brand Marketing, Sports Marketing, and Internal Communications and recommend design solutions that align with Brooks brand standards and meet partner goals.
  • Interpret runner, event, and market insights into compelling graphic concepts and visual stories that connect to Brooks’ brand expression and resonate with customers.
  • Design graphics, print repeats, embroideries, jacquards, branding, laser cut, or other fabric manipulation to align with the seasonal product direction.
  • Exceptionally presentation savvy – prepare and present concepts to stakeholders and senior leaders, communicating design rationale clearly and incorporating feedback to refine and advance the work.
  • Respond to design critiques with multiple solutions, especially under narrow parameters or strict budgets.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Gain and maintain a current and deep understanding of Brooks products and what matters to runners.
  • Mentor and support other designers, and partner with freelancers to ensure Brand Creative goals are met.
  • Stay current on design techniques, trends, and competitor activity through research and education, applying relevant insights to work that reflects Brooks and resonates with runners.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve consistency, and adapt existing design approaches to solve problems in creative and efficient ways.
  • Take initiative and ownership in projects, creative problem solving, talking shop, asking questions, speaking up, having a point of view, thinking strategically, championing the importance of detail, having fun, rolling up your sleeves, and cultivating optimism.
  • Support additional brand design projects as needed and when compatible with workload.
Qualifications
  • Creative portfolio demonstrating best in class graphic design; please add your online portfolio link at the top of your resume when applying
  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Material, Graphic Design, or related field; equivalent combination of education and years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree(s)
  • 5+ years of progressive and technically sophisticated textile design experience; may be substituted by proven skill based on work samples
  • Demonstrated understanding of textile manufacturing, screen‑printing, dying, and design techniques
  • Expert knowledge in Figma, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe CC
  • Must be able to design, prepare production files, and color separate art using Illustrator and Photoshop (vector and index)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one another
  • Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products, or other departments’ operations and/or morale; “connecting the dots”
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary
  • Passionate participation in Brooks’ sports activities a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community
  • Travel 2x a year (domestically and internationally)
  • Embraces and lives the Brooks values!
