Job summary

Gina Group seeks a Senior Designer in New York, NY to lead Legwear design from concept through production. You will own brands, create digital CADs, and present tech packs to hand off to factories, while collaborating with overseas teams and licensors.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in legwear, proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop, strong PM skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a hybrid work schedule and generous benefits.

Responsibilities

• Design ownership over brands and create digital CADs for full seasonal collections.
• Create and present tech packs with design details for handoff to design team and factories.
• Manage PLM knowledge and processes.
• Provide direction and design with a team of designers; review samples and ensure standards.
• Conduct market research and present trends for bi-weekly meetings.
• Collaborate with Design Director and Manager across the process.
• Coordinate with overseas team to solve PD issues.
• Work cross-functionally with product development and communicate design intent.
• Design primarily in Illustrator with minimal Photoshop retouching.
• Bring new ideas each season and adjust styling after feedback.
• Ensure designs align with brand and licensing standards for approvals.
• Assist in building trend packets and pitches for new licenses.
• Participate in meetings with licensors and buyers.
• Perform comp/store shopping to monitor competition.
• Utilize resources like WGSN for direction.
• Handle special projects as assigned.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

We are looking for a Senior Designer to join our Legwear team. This is a great opportunity for those looking to be a part of an energetic, creative, and collaborative group. Our designers have been shaping our department for the better season after season.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Design ownership over brands, assigned based on aesthetic and creative strengths, responsible for creating digital CADs for full seasonal collections
• Create and then present tech packages with information necessary in order to communicate design specific detail necessary to hand off to the design team and factories
• PLM knowledge and management
• Provide direction as well as design alongside a team of designers, prepare sample requests, review, critique, test, and approve submitted samples while adhering to product, color, and material standards
• Strong eye for trend, conducting valuable market research, bringing ideas to bi-weekly meeting and inspiring other members of design team
• Works closely with Design Director and Manager with creative freedom throughout process
• Works with our overseas team to solve PD problems when technical or timing setbacks arise
• Work cross-functionally and professionally with product development team, communicating clearly to ensure the design is produced how you envisioned
• Primarily design in Illustrator with minimal retouching in Photoshop
• Bring new ideas and concepts to table regularly each season
• Adjust product styling and features as needed after receiving feedback.
• Ensure designs align with brand and licensing standards, preparing materials for approvals when required.
• Assist in building trend packets
• Help to create pitches for new licenses
• Participate in meetings with licensors and buyers if needed.
• Perform comp shopping and store shopping activities to monitor the competitive landscape and identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation.
• Utilize all resources available to get the latest direction on forward trends ie; WGSN
• Special projects as assigned

NY Pay Transparency:

The pay range for this $70,000 - $90,000 based on skills and experience.
