Job summary

The Beyond Group, a Los Angeles-based digital product studio now operating as a fully remote team, seeks a Senior Designer. You will shape Shopify storefronts for DTC clients, building design systems, prototypes, and pixel-perfect interfaces.

With 5+ years in design (agency or in-house), you’ll collaborate with clients and the PM to translate strategy into elegant, conversion-focused experiences. Expect remote collaboration and ongoing learning.

• Strong visual design fundamentals and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Figma design systems for client projects.
• Execute design briefs with defined scopes and timelines.
• Iterate on sections and features guided by client roadmaps.
• Design A/B test variations to measure performance and conversions.
• Build responsive prototypes to communicate interactions and flows.
• Design micro-interactions and motion (transitions, hover states).
• Participate in internal design reviews and critiques.
• Present work to clients with PM/Director support when needed.
• Refine designs based on feedback from clients and team.
• Prepare files for development and handoffs to developers.

This role is open to candidates based in the US or Canada only.

The Beyond Group is a digital product studio founded in Los Angeles, now a fully remote team of ~15 people. We partner with e-commerce brands like Hiya, MUDWTR, FabFitFun, and Perfumehead and our work is built on three pillars: data-driven decisions, impact-first designs, and elegant technology solutions.

We're hiring a full-time Senior Designer to join our design team, reporting to the Director of Design. You'll work across a portfolio of retainer-based DTC e-commerce clients, shaping how their Shopify storefronts look, feel, and convert.

What you'll do

• Create and/or maintain Figma design systems for client projects


• Execute design briefs with defined scopes and timelines


• Iterate on specific sections and features of existing websites, guided by client roadmaps and strategy


• Design A/B test variations to measure performance and improve conversion


• Build responsive prototypes to communicate interactions and user flows


• Design micro-interactions and motion (transitions, hover states, etc)


• Participate in internal design reviews and critiques


• Present work to clients, with support from the PM or Director of Design when needed


• Refine designs based on feedback from clients, stakeholders, and the internal team


• Prepare files for development and lead developer handoffs

What we're looking for

Technical Skills

• Expert Figma skills: design systems, components, variants, variables (tokens) and prototyping


• Strong visual design fundamentals: typography, color, and layout


• Experience designing for DTC e-commerce and working within the Shopify environment


• Strong attention to detail, with pixel-perfect, consistent execution

Working Style

• Self-directed and organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines


• Comfortable with agile, iterative design and development workflows


• Clear, proactive communicator with clients and teammates


• Able to balance client needs with design best practices


• Naturally curious, always exploring new tools, techniques, and ways of working


• Familiar with Claude Code and Figma MCP (or similar AI tools that connect to Figma), and excited to keep learning and growing in this area


• Uses AI thoughtfully in your design workflow, to speed up research, exploration, and production without compromising craft & creativity


• Excited about sharing what you learn and helping shape how the design team works

Experience

• 5+ years of design experience at an agency (preferred) or in an in-house team


• Hands-on experience with DTC e-commerce and Shopify, including common online retail patterns (PDP, PLP, navigation, cart, checkout, etc)


• A portfolio including DTC e-commerce web design, with context on your role and results
