Overview

Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team and provides a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Senior Designers meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate them on requirements, and build a creative design concept that incorporates the customer’s personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Pay Range

$19.75 - $30.95

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design)
• 6 years interior design experience in lieu of design education
• Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position

Essential Functions

• Proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and store-generated leads
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up; use of company communication tools required
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales and goals
• Support company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market
• Understand and utilize design applications (e.g., Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject)
• Participate in local professional affiliations (e.g., ASID, NKBA)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car
• Work environment may be warehouse-like with moderate to high noise levels

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium work – ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally; frequent use of hands; may be required to stand, walk, reach, and maneuver in a retail environment.

• Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Pickup Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
