Job summary

Forgent is seeking a Sr. Design Assurance Engineer to own design quality for its Solutions product lines, eliminating recurring design errors and driving corrective actions before manufacturing.

The role oversees CARB and ECC processes, and ensures changes land in all documents and systems. You will participate in cross-functional design reviews, track metrics such as closure rate and escape rate, and push improvements to design standards, checklists, and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in design or quality engineering in electrical equipment or switchgear.
• Strong root cause analysis (8D, A3, DMAIC) and CAPA experience.
• Experience owning an ECO/ECN process and facilitating a cross-functional board (CCB, CARB, MRB).
• Ability to translate data into Pareto, trend, and cost of poor quality analyses; strong Excel; Power BI/Smartsheet a plus.
• Familiarity with UL 891/UL 1558 requirements and PLM/PDM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead CARB for design issues: set agenda, cadence, owner, due dates.
• Manage ECC process end to end: intake, review, disposition, implementation, verification, and closure with board rules.
• Run the CCB: fixed cadence, change packages, documented disposition, and dates.
• Attend cross functional design reviews and support peer and team lead tiers.
• Publish design quality metrics and track issue closure and escape rates.
• Standardize design quality practices across Sites (Hanover, Champlin, Dayton).
