Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Designer to lead complex architectural projects in our Architecture practice. You will collaborate with the Design Principal, meet owners/clients, and develop concepts, documentation, and narratives across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of design leadership, strong Revit skills, and experience in healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities. HDR values sustainable design and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred in Architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field is required.
• Minimum 10 years of design leadership experience.
• Experience with healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities.
• Sustainable design/LEED knowledge is strongly desired.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Take lead responsibility for creative concepts/solutions for complex architectural projects in consultation with the Design Principal.
• Meet directly with the owner/client, analyze project goals, conceive and develop architectural concepts/solutions.
• Initiate and create designs and other documentation with responsibility for presentation drawings, models and narratives.
• Provide senior design leadership for all disciplines related to building design.
• Represent HDR in marketing to prospective owners/clients as a key team member.
• Work with various disciplines to ensure concepts meet project needs and program.
• Develop design solutions meeting client goals and HDR metrics.
• Direct the activities of other designers and mentor staff.
• Help build and maintain the design culture of the studio.
• Perform other duties as needed.
