Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Design Estimator to deliver precise, optimal structural estimates for highly complex projects. This role requires advanced technical skills, risk management knowledge, and the ability to influence profitability and regional growth.

You will lead the estimating team, mentor junior estimators, collaborate with sales on pricing strategies, and ensure consistency in estimation practices to drive sustainable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in steel design or pre-engineered metal building estimating/design.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage quotations and pre-order assistance for high-complexity projects (450 to 600 hours +/-) with quality assurance checks.
• Collaborate with sales leadership to develop pricing strategies and provide input on final pricing.
• Lead training sessions to improve pricing software capabilities among team members and builders.
• Act as a mentor and leader within the estimating team, guiding and developing junior and intermediate estimators.
• Continuously improve quote hit ratio and identify opportunities to enhance profitability.
