Job summary

Stryker Group in Michigan seeks a Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing processes. You will proactively solve problems, communicate across teams, and drive design activities while prioritizing quality, compliance, and customer needs.

You will translate inputs into specifications, develop proofs of concept, and work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and PMO to deliver robust medical devices.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical) with 2+ years of work experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles.
• Ability to create engineering drawings and models using GD&T and CAE tools.
• Demonstrated ability to apply materials and manufacturing processes to product design.
• Excellent communication of plans and technical information to teammates.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and verify medical device components and modules with minimal supervision.
• Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and subsystem designs.
• Develop, prototype, and analyze solutions for proof of concept and complex challenges.
• Apply fundamental and advanced engineering concepts to problem solving.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, design controls, risk management, and QMS.
• Independently create and refine engineering documentation, including Design History File content.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and PMO.
• Demonstrate ownership, adapt to new processes, and drive project success.
