Job summary

Acuity Inc. in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead end-to-end rapid product development for lighting and related systems.

You will drive mechanical and electrical design, champion design for manufacturability, and ensure regulatory readiness while balancing cost and performance. You will collaborate across Sales, Product Management, Operations, and Manufacturing, guiding BOMs, ECOs, and PLM data, and you will mentor teams to deliver prototypes and production launches with sound

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering required.
• 3–5 years mechanical and electrical design experience.
• Experience with high-volume commercial or industrial products.
• Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and PLM tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing readiness (DFM/DFA) and BOMs.
• Familiarity with UL requirements and testing.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly design, adapt, and deploy lighting solutions for customer requirements.
• Lead technical execution for time‑critical, high‑revenue programs.
• Drive cost reduction, margin improvement, and supplier readiness.
• Manage BOMs, ECOs, and PLM data with cross‑functional teams.
• Communicate trade‑offs, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
• Support pilot builds and production launches with strong engineering judgment.
