Job summary

Caterpillar Fleet Products seeks an experienced engineer to drive New Product Development and machine design for advanced haulage systems. You will partner with product and engineering teams to deliver prototypes, validate designs, and manage supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires on-site work in Arizona, mentoring responsibilities, and proven leadership in NPD. Experience with Command for Hauling and strong APQP/FMEA knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or commensurate relevant job-related experience.
Knowledge of Product Applications (Command for Hauling) preferred.
Prior experience supporting Machine Design projects, including Light Fabrications or Electrical/Electronics Integrations.
Experience with APQP, FMEA, and Supply Chain.
Proven experience as a Project Leader – New Product Development.
Experience mentoring others.
Experience with Creo, Team Center or 6Sigma preferred.
Ability to work onsite five days a week.
Sponsorship is NOT available.
Successful completion of a drug screen.

Job description

Design, develop, build, and implement new products, components, or technologies for Caterpillar Fleet Products
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to solve complex global technical problems
Coordinate planning and delivery of projects for new models, features, and options integrating Command for Hauling systems
Research new materials and competitive products
Organize, coordinate, and execute prototype building, testing, and analysis
Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance
Oversee drafting and testing specialists
Provide technical guidance and initiate ideas for Autonomy Hardware on Haul Trucks
Develop and document functional requirements, detailed design documents, and validation plans
Participate in buy-build analysis for product components
Support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate relevant job-related experience
