Job summary

Protingent Staffing seeks a Design Engineer III to lead mechanical designs in Mukilteo, WA. You will produce 2-D layouts and 3-D models, perform calculations, and ensure designs meet customer and regulatory requirements for aerospace/defense projects.

The direct-hire, onsite position requires US citizenship and clearance eligibility. You will mentor junior engineers and assist with manufacturing, testing, and field deployment.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent experience.
• Typically 4–7 years of aerospace/defense experience.
• Strong design leadership and robust hardware experience.
• Familiar with military and commercial design specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of mechanical structures and systems to meet requirements.
• Create 2-D layouts and 3-D solid models; perform calculations.
• Review designs for manufacturability, cost, and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers; support testing and deployment.
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, and specifications per standards.
