Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for Power Tools to lead technical resources on mid/high complexity New Product Development projects and to contribute to the design and development of new products within the Power Tools department.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5 years of design experience, and strong CAD/FEA skills (ProE, SolidWorks, NX). Travel up to 10% (domestic and international) and mentorship responsibilities are included.

Qualifikationen

• 5 years of design experience in power tools or similar.
• Strong 3D CAD proficiency (ProE, SolidWorks, NX) and FEA.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% (domestic & international).
• Interest in construction tools.

• Execute a wide variety of calculations and software aided analyses in the following areas: mechanical stress analysis, tolerance stack analyses, gearing design (preferred), sound and vibration / response of dynamic systems, mechanism development and analysis.

The Senior Design Engineer’s primary role uses highly developed engineering expertise and project management abilities to contribute to the design and development of new products and support of existing products within the department. Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical resource and mechanical engineering leader on mid/high complexity Power Tool New Product Development projects.
• Provide clear engineering information to Project Leaders and the Global Engineering teams facilitating trade off decisions.
• Establish test regimens for components and assemblies within area of scope in the project with minimal guidance.
• Deliver complete data analysis to support design recommendations.
• Serve as a technical resource on areas of expertise and provide consultation / mentorship to others.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics 5 years of design experience.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD – ProE, Solidworks, NX, or similar as well as FEA.
• Deep mechanical aptitude is required including a broad knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical properties and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials.
• Ability to travel up to 10% (travel includes Domestic and International).
• High interest in tools of the construction trades.
