Job summary

Nymbl Inc. is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own the experience end to end—from discovery, user flows, and wireframes to production front-end code in React 19 and TypeScript.

You will build a reusable Application Experience System and work across discovery and development stages with the engineering team. In this role, you will prototype quickly for demos and RFPs, partner with architects, sales engineers, and client success, and ensure accessibility and quality across components.

Qualifications

• Six+ years across product design and front-end engineering with production work.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS.
• Experience with app-gen tools (Claude Code) and practical AI-assisted workflows.
• Ownership of design systems or component libraries and governance.
• ADA/WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility knowledge and practice.
• Strong client-facing communication translating business problems to screens.
• Enterprise/B2B experience with workflow-heavy interfaces.

Responsibilities

Job description

Nymbl engineers customize applications for organizations that have outgrown what they can buy off the shelf. The Senior Design Engineer owns the experience layer of that work end to end: the research and interface design, and the production front-end code that makes it real.

This is deliberately one role rather than two. A designer who hands off a static mockup loses fidelity at the handoff. An engineer who receives one loses intent. App-gen, AI-assisted, agent-driven application development, has collapsed the distance between those two jobs, and we are hiring for the person who already works in the collapsed space, designing a flow in the morning and shipping the React components for it in the afternoon, primarily with Claude Code or other AppGen tools.

You will work across two stages. In discovery, you'll help turn a loose client conversation into a working prototype. In development, you turn validated flows into production components working with the engineering team.

What you will do

• Own the experience end to end — discovery, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity screens, and the front-end code that ships.
• Prototype fast — working prototypes in days, not weeks, to support demos, RFPs, and early discovery.
• Ship production front end in React 19 and TypeScript, with app-gen as your primary workflow rather than an occasional accelerant.
• Build the Application Experience System — a reusable component and pattern library that holds up across enterprise clients, and own it as it grows.
• Partner across the delivery chain with Solution Architects, Sales Engineers, developers, and Client Success, so what gets designed is what gets built.
• Pressure-test feasibility early — collaborate on data models so screens reflect real relationships and logic, not optimistic ones.
• Present to clients directly — walk executives and technical stakeholders through prototypes, and hold the room when the questions get hard.
• Raise the bar on the experience layer — mentor designers and developers, run design reviews, and set the standard for accessibility and front-end quality.

What You Will Bring

• Six or more years across product design and front-end engineering, with production work you can point to in both. A portfolio that shows the interface design and the code behind it.
• React Experience — hooks, composition, state management, and fluency with the current generation, including Server Components, Suspense, and React 19 patterns. TypeScript and modern CSS.
• Daily fluency with app-gen. Claude Code specifically is a plus. What matters is that agent-driven development is already how you build, and that you have experience to back up where it helps and where it does not.
• Design tooling depth — Figma, plus at least one rapid prototyping environment.
• Complex B2B or enterprise application experience — workflow-heavy interfaces, role-based permissions, and real data models.
• Design system or component library ownership, including the governance side of keeping one adopted.
• Accessibility as a default, not a retrofit — Experience with and knowledge of ADA, WCAG 2.2 AA, and other accessibility requirements.
• Client-facing communication. You can translate a business problem into a screen, and explain the tradeoff to a skeptical executive without retreating into design vocabulary.

Helpful, Not Required

• Agency or consulting background, with the context-switching that comes with several concurrent clients.
• Presales, RFP, or solution-strategy experience.
• Data modeling literacy beyond reading an ERD.
