Job summary

Florida Turbine Technologies (FTT), a Kratos Company, seeks a Senior Design Drafter/Modeler to check and create complex part and assembly drawings using CAD tools. The role requires GD&T mastery, interaction with engineering, and extensive experience with large assemblies and BOMs.

Knowledge of Siemens NX or CREO 3D, and familiarity with PLM systems such as Team Center or Windchill, plus SAP experience, are preferred. This on-site opportunity is based in Jupiter, FL.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Drafting and Design Technology or equivalent required.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient with GD&T and detailed drawings.

General Job Summary:

The Senior Design Drafter/Modeler - checker/modeler/drafter shall have an expert knowledge of drafting methods, procedures, techniques, and GD&T. Checks, creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering. The analyst shall also possess a working knowledge of Siemens NX preferred or PTC CREO 3D CAD software. PLM software: Team Center or Windchill and SAP experience is desirable.

Essential Job Functions:

• Duties are performed under minimal supervision.
• Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
• Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
• Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
• Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
• As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways.
• Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader.
• Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills

A Senior Design Drafter/Modeler— checker/modeler/drafter must have the skills and experience to perform the following tasks:

• Check/prepare models and detail drawings of complex parts.
• Check/prepare models and drawings of complex assemblies and subassemblies.
• Work closely with engineering to incorporate all requirements into a design.
• Manage and prepare large assemblies, including parts list/BOM creation.
• Comply with all related specifications in the preparation of product definition.
• Comprehensive understanding of GD&T principles and ability to interpret and apply to complex to highly complex designs.
• Prepare tolerance stack-ups of complex to highly complex designs.
• Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties.
• Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
• Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
• Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes, and more.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.

Education and Experience:

• A.S. degree in Drafting and Design Technology or equivalent is required.
• 10 to 12 years of experience

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion with wrists/hands (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
• Ability to view and see drawings.
