Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in St. Louis, MO seeks a Senior Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Phantom Works program.

You will contribute to mission systems integration, combining sensors, communication, and core capabilities to meet warfighter needs. Work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team within an agile development environment, maturing products through the lifecycle, and collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical.
  • 9+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in an agile environment and leading engineers to deliver mission systems capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Make complex software and hardware design decisions for mission processing capabilities.
  • Lead capability integration team (software, hardware, test) to release capabilities to the customer.
  • Create and scope mission features from system requirements to high level software requirements.
  • Analyze and translate customer requirements into system, hardware, and software designs.
  • Define interfaces to ensure compatibility with platform architecture and other subsystems.
  • Utilize MBSE for hardware, software, and performance model development and traceability.
  • Test and validate system functionality to meet requirements.
  • Present design change recommendations to leadership and customers.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)

is seeking a Senior Design and Analysis Engineer in St. Louis, MO, supporting a Phantom Works Fixed Wing Proprietary Program. You will be joining a fast-paced Phantom Works program where you will be responsible for developing and integrating complex communication, navigation, and core systems. Your work will define how the design of mission systems integrated sensors, communication, and weapons meet the operational needs of our warfighter.

In this role, you will be joining a cross-functional team integrating advanced mission systems capabilities as part of a very exciting and critically important development effort. You will have the opportunity to operate in an agile development environment, mature our products through the development lifecycle, work on next generation open-architecture model-based designs, and collaborate across multiple disciplines.

The day-to-day activities of this position will be a combination of traditional design engineering, collaborating with cross-functional peers, and presenting technical challenges and solutions to leadership. Frequent interaction with program leadership, customers, and industry partners during critical design phases will be key elements of this position. This position will provide the candidate an opportunity to develop their engineering skills with potential growth into a leadership role.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Make complex software and hardware design decisions for mission processing capabilities
  • Lead capability integration team (software, hardware, test) to release capabilities to the customer
  • Create and scope mission features for your team to decompose from system level requirements to high level software requirements
  • Analyze and translate customer requirements into system, hardware, and software designs
  • Define logical and software interfaces to ensure compatibility with the platform architecture and ensure proper interoperability with other subsystems
  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for hardware, software, and performance model development. Utilizes MBSE for requirements development, interfaces definition, and traceability
  • Test and validate system functionality and performance to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Present design change recommendations to upper leadership and the customer
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Experience leading a team of engineers to deliver mission systems capabilities
  • Experience designing functionality and requirements for mission processing subsystems
  • Experience with MBSE modeling tools

Summary pay range:

$136,850-$185,150
