Job summary

The State of Arkansas seeks a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney – Attorney Supervisor to oversee Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys in court preparation, charging decisions, and legal research as well as drafting legal documents. May supervise administrative staff.

This exempt, full-time role requires licensure to practice law in Arkansas and representation of the state in judicial proceedings within the district.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal laws and statutes.
• Knowledge of legal research and writing protocols.
• Knowledge of the state's legislative processes.
• Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply case law, statutes, precedents.
• Ability to provide legal guidance and technical assistance to management and staff.
• Ability to conduct litigation.

Responsibilities

• Prosecutes Circuit Court cases for the Judicial District.
• Supervises other Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys by assigning or reviewing work and charging decisions.
• Reviews and meets with law enforcement regarding investigations and witness interviews.
• Drafts briefs, motions, and other legal documents for criminal cases.
• Represents the State of Arkansas in legal proceedings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
