Job summary

Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office seeks an experienced Deputy Prosecuting Attorney focused on civil torts litigation. The role supports the juvenile sexual assault team, handles complex civil matters, and provides strategic legal guidance to the office to advance public service.

You will work with seasoned prosecutors, investigators, and staff to ensure trauma-informed investigations and sound litigation strategy in both state and federal courts.

Qualifications

• Handles complex civil litigation matters and trial preparation.
• Provides legal opinions and memoranda to elected officials and department heads.
• May assume supervisory duties and contribute to policy development.

Responsibilities

• Defend Pierce County in civil tort matters in state and federal courts.
• Collaborate with juvenile sexual assault team on trauma-informed investigations and litigation.
• Assist in case strategy, settlement discussions, and superior court proceedings.
• Advise department leadership and other attorneys on legal strategy and policy.
