Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Central Dental Laboratory seeks a skilled Dental Laboratory Technician to support the production of dental prostheses and assist VA facilities nationwide.

You will fabricate crowns, bridges, dentures, and maxillofacial appliances per provider prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and quality at each step. This full-time, on-site role operates Monday through Friday with early morning hours, and requires experience with dental lab equipment, CAD-CAM technology,

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation.
• Fabricate acrylic or porcelain crowns, bridges, or facings, and inspect completed work for precision and conformity with prescriptions.
• Knowledge of dental laboratory materials, equipment, and processes used in crown/bridge and denture fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Produce a wide range of complex dental prostheses independently or with minimal supervision.
• Receive prescriptions from dental staff and residents; determine design and urgency; create a plan to complete cases.
• Collaborate with Restorative Dentists, Prosthodontists, and Oral Surgeons to design and fabricate appliances.
