Job summary

UTHealth Houston in Houston, TX seeks a Dental Support Specialist to assist in dental dispensary operations and central sterilization, supporting patient care.

You will sterilize, package, and dispense instruments and supplies, set up sterile trays, and manage inventory while adhering to policies. Must have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in customer service or sterilization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience in customer service and central sterilization is preferred, including handling dental materials.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, disinfects, packages and sterilizes dental and surgical instruments.
• Orders and dispenses instruments, dental materials and supplies to students and faculty.
• Sets up sterile instrument trays for surgical procedures.
• Operates ultrasonic cleaners and sterilizers.
• Maintains inventory levels and records.
• Assists in periodic or annual inventory; maintains security of university property.
• Ensures proper utilization and compliance with clinic equipment loan policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
