Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Demolition Oversight Technician to provide local technical leadership for demolition and environmental projects in Novi, Michigan. You will monitor contractor activities, interpret plans, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires extensive demolition oversight experience, familiarity with environmental regulations, and strong communication skills to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 9+ years of demolition oversight experience including regulated materials abatement.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with environmental and construction regulations and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and travel for project needs.

Responsibilities

• Examine and interpret construction plans, specs, schedules, and other project docs.
• Monitor contractor work and perform site inspections for safety and compliance.
• Perform material sampling when needed.
• Provide leadership to junior field staff.
• Generate accurate documentation using electronic systems and field notes.
• Prepare periodic progress reports across multiple sites.
• Identify risks to project objectives and communicate mitigations.
