Job summary

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc. seeks a senior Systems Engineer with 8–12 years of experience to lead system-level development, integration, verification, and sustainment for complex defense systems.

You will translate customer needs into technical solutions, guide multidisciplinary teams, and maintain rigorous requirements and interfaces throughout the lifecycle. You will participate in design reviews, lead trade studies, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
• 8–12 years of progressive systems engineering experience.
• Experience with requirements development, allocation, verification, and validation.
• Proven experience developing system architectures and interfaces.
• Strong system integration, verification, validation, and testing experience.
• Ability to develop clear practical engineering solutions.
• Active or able-to-obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and sustainment of system-level requirements and documentation.
• Translate customer needs into clear system requirements and solutions.
• Perform requirements analysis, allocation, traceability, and verification planning.
• Develop and maintain system architectures and interface definitions.
• Provide system-level leadership during integration, verification, and sustainment activities.
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines to satisfy system requirements.
• Lead system-level trade studies balancing performance, cost, risk, and producibility.
• Develop and maintain ICDs and manage interfaces.
• Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports; support integration and test events.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer engagements.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead root-cause analysis of system-level issues.
• Maintain rigorous requirements traceability from inputs to validation.
• Support configuration management and baseline documentation.
• Analyze performance and drive system enhancements.
• Produce technical reports and customer-facing documentation.
• Provide mentorship to less-experienced engineers.
