Job summary

Murray Osorio PLLC is a fast-growing immigration law firm seeking a Senior Paralegal for the Defensive team. The role is a full-time hybrid position with initial remote work potential after 90 days and occasional in-office days, and candidates must reside within commuting distance of VA, MD, or NJ for meetings.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of immigration law experience, is fluent in Spanish, and is highly organized with strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in immigration law.
• Knowledge of Immigration Court Procedures.
• Able to work independently and in teams.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of several forms of relief (I-589s, 42A/Bs, I-601, I-485, etc.) before the immigration court.
• Collect supporting evidence and conduct country conditions research.
• Complete affidavits with clients and witnesses.
• Assist in the preparation of simple and/or complex motions.
• Prepare the exhibits list and packet for hearings.
• Responsible for E-filing through ECAS for allowed cases.
• Interpret cases for hearing preparation as needed.
• Maintain and update the case-management database.
• Schedule hearings, manage the calendar, and set deadlines.
• Work with the Legal Assistant Team to ensure filings arrive at the proper location.
• Develop effective working relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients.
