Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead the preparation, negotiation, and management of defense contracts, ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and related regulations. The role requires US citizenship and an active Secret clearance or higher, with cradle-to-grave contract administration experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contracts Management, or related field.
  • 8–12 years of contract management experience, defense environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, OTAs, ITAR, and government procurement processes.
  • Experience negotiating complex terms and conditions and managing government contracts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and support multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • US citizenship with an active Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and other agreements to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Administer government contracts, monitor performance, ensure compliance, and manage modifications.
  • Analyze contract terms to identify risks and recommend mitigating strategies.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for contractual matters with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and documentation of contract activities.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and project teams to address contractual issues and resolve disputes.
  • Monitor compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other regulations and identify data rights in technical data or software.
  • Support proposal development and prepare necessary contract documentation for compliant proposals.
  • Maintain organized records of all contract-related documentation.
