Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Database Administrator / IT Specialist to support mission-critical database systems and IT infrastructure for the DoD and Defense Intelligence Enterprise. You will admin Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases, manage virtualization and server tasks, and ensure secure data access and recovery.

Qualifications

• Requires DoD TS/SCI eligibility and US citizenship.
• Master’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 17+ years of relevant experience in computer science/IT.
• Experience with database administration (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with IT infrastructure management including virtualization, server administration, networking, and Linux/Windows environments.
• Ability to analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for collaboration with technical teams.
• Growth mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Manage IT infrastructure including virtualization platforms, server administration, and networking.
• Install, configure, and upgrade database and server hardware/software.
• Monitor performance, tune systems, and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested.
• Collaborate with software development teams to support data integration and access requirements.
• Present information using data visualization and reporting tools.
