Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a senior Databricks Architect to lead enterprise data modernization efforts. You will design and implement a Databricks Lakehouse on AWS, drive large-scale data migrations, and architect scalable ELT/ETL pipelines with Python, Spark, and Delta Lake.

Strong governance and security practices will be essential. The ideal candidate has 12+ years in data engineering/architecture, 5+ years Databricks hands-on experience, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Data Engineering/Data Architecture experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Databricks Architecture experience.
• Experience with Databricks Lakehouse, Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale Databricks Lakehouse architecture.
• Lead data modernization and migration programs to Databricks.
• Architect scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake and Python.
• Define data governance, security, lineage, and metadata management strategies.
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to define data strategies.
• Provide architecture guidance for AWS cloud-native solutions.
• Create architecture standards and technical documentation.
• Mentor data engineers and technical leads.
