Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Databricks Architect to lead enterprise data modernization efforts. The role focuses on Databricks Lakehouse architecture, AWS cloud integration, data migration, and modern data engineering practices within an insurance domain context.

Responsibilities include shaping architecture standards, building scalable pipelines, and mentoring data engineers while ensuring governance, security, and cost optimization across the Databricks ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Data Engineering/Data Architecture experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Databricks Architecture experience.
• Strong expertise in Databricks Lakehouse, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL and Python.
• AWS cloud experience (S3, IAM, networking, security).
• Experience with data governance, security, and enterprise data models.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale Databricks Lakehouse architecture.
• Lead data modernization and migration programs to Databricks.
• Architect ELT/ETL pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake and Python.
• Define data governance, security, and metadata management with Unity Catalog.
• Design batch and real-time data processing solutions on AWS.
