Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a Database Engineer (Level 3) in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role requires active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and 10+ years in database engineering, focusing on designing relational/object-oriented databases, parser/tools development, and data loading software.

The engineer will oversee full lifecycle activities from requirements through IOC, balancing data volume, concurrency, security, and performance to meet system goals.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Database Engineer on programs/contracts of similar scope.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; five additional years of DBE experience may substitute for the degree.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, OEM, and Data Guard.

Responsibilities

• Direct and lead the development of database structures, schemas, parser tools, and loading software.
• Manage requirements from project inception through testing and IOC; provide strategic recommendations.
• Translate complex requirements into functional database schemas and automate queries, scripts, and macros.
• Build complex systems leveraging ODBC and cloud-based storage/retrieval methodologies.
• Evaluate and balance trade-offs involving scale, access controls, performance, distribution, and security.
