Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a senior database architect to design, optimize, and govern complex database environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms. You will lead data modeling efforts, drive performance tuning, and mentor database teams while collaborating with engineers and analysts to meet evolving business needs.

You will establish standards, implement backup/recovery, and steer migrations and modernization programs, ensuring security and regulatory compliance in a fast‑paced logistics

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database design, architecture, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize logical and physical database models to support business and technical requirements.
• Oversee architecture, implementation, and management of highly available, scalable database solutions (on-premises and/or cloud).
• Set database standards, guidelines, and best practices for data modeling, data integrity, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into robust designs.
• Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and platforms to meet evolving business requirements.
• Lead or participate in database migration, integration, and modernization initiatives.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune for efficiency.
• Enforce data governance and ensure compliance with security/privacy regulations.
• Mentor DBAs and junior engineers; maintain documentation and data dictionaries.
