Premier Staffing Partners, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator – AWS PostgreSQL to support a large-scale AWS PostgreSQL environment within the Data Team.

You will own administration, performance tuning, security, backups, disaster recovery, and migration strategies for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL. This role stresses automation and IaC using Terraform, and collaboration with engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to implement best practices

Formación

• Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server in enterprise environments.
• Strong Terraform and IaC implementation capabilities.
• Proven ability to optimize large-scale AWS PostgreSQL deployments.

Responsabilidades

• Administer and support Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability.
• Develop, analyze, and tune complex SQL queries and database solutions.
• Build and maintain database Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Automate database administration, monitoring, deployment, and operational processes.
• Establish and maintain database standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Perform database change management and support production releases.
• Troubleshoot complex database performance issues and DR initiatives.
• Plan and execute database migrations between AWS platforms.
• Support migrations from Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 for i / iSeries to AWS PostgreSQL.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, application, and data teams on architecture.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator – AWS PostgreSQL to support and optimize a large-scale AWS PostgreSQL environment as part of an enterprise Data Team. This role will focus heavily on the administration, automation, performance, security, reliability, and migration of Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will bring deep PostgreSQL expertise along with strong AWS and SQL Server experience. This is a strong opportunity for a senior-level DBA who enjoys owning complex PostgreSQL environments, solving challenging production issues, and helping modernize enterprise database platforms in AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability
• Develop, analyze, and tune complex SQL queries and database solutions
• Build and maintain database Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Automate database administration, monitoring, deployment, and operational processes
• Establish and maintain database standards, procedures, and best practices
• Perform database change management and support production releases
• Troubleshoot complex database and application performance issues
• Support high-availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery initiatives
• Plan and execute database migrations between AWS database platforms
• Support migrations from Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 for i / iSeries environments to AWS PostgreSQL
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, application, and data teams on database architecture and solutions
• Serve as a PostgreSQL and AWS database SME while mentoring team members and promoting best practices

Required Experience

• Strong experience with AWS database technologies, particularly:
• Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL
• Experience administering and/or migrating Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong SQL development, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning experience
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with database migrations, upgrades, change management, and production support
• Strong understanding of database security, backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery
• Ability to troubleshoot complex database performance and reliability issues

Preferred Experience

• Experience migrating SQL Server databases to PostgreSQL
• Experience with IBM DB2 for i / iSeries
• Experience with AWS database migration tools and cloud modernization initiatives
• Experience developing database automation and operational tooling
• Previous experience serving as a seniLong-termPostgreSQLor DBA, technical lead, or database SME
